History
Originally incorporated in 2003. Gateway Solver has been HMRC-recognised since 2004, and we consult HMRC on the delivery of their online tax services. In 2014 the company moved to the Isle of Man, where it is registered as 135356C, and kept serving the UK from there.
Nearly 10,000 companies and their agents file PAYE/RTI and CIS with Gateway Solver. VAT Solver Pro is the separate Making Tax Digital product. Alongside those, we take on selected bespoke work: on-premises AI and workflow automation, software consultancy, design, build, and support. The person who takes that brief worked at Microsoft, in the NHS, and in defence.
Sectors
These are industries we have worked in. They are not a current client list.
- Public sector: city and county councils, the National Health Service, police IT, and the Ministry of Defence.
- Finance: international banks, stockbrokers, corporate service providers, payroll companies, and accountants.
- Construction: housebuilders, engineering, and plant hire.
- Broadcast, including a live Sky quiz show, and small and medium businesses.
The harder projects include a Ministry of Defence fire-control prototype, NHS blood tracking, a GP referral system, diabetic retinopathy screening with HL7, and real-time trading information for stockbrokers. Where there is a write-up, it is on the portfolio. A GP referral system and the stockbroker trading work are not written up as separate case studies.
